Episode 6: Fundraising Mini Series Pt. 1- Your Donor Road Map

February 5, 2019

by Sheela Nimishakavi

When I first started out fundraising, I had no idea what building a donor relationship meant. I knew I was supposed to be “engaging” donors, but didn’t know how to get started.

Building an authentic relationship that didn’t come about organically, seemed really odd to me. And, I know I’m not alone.

Whenever I talk to nonprofits about engaging their donors, I see a lot of emphatic nods accompanied by anxious expressions. If you’re thinking, “Yea, I know I’m supposed to engage donors, but I don’t know where to get started,” or “Yea, I know I’m supposed to engage donors, but I have 54939095 other things I need to do,” then I’ve got you covered.

On this episode, I walk you through my Donor Road Map, which I created to help me engage donors in meaningful communication. If you’re just starting out in your fundraising career, or fundraising fell into your lap and you’re looking for direction, this episode is for you.
